China has developed rapidly in supercomputers and jumped to the international advanced level. China is the first country to manufacture supercomputers as a developing country. China developed the first supercomputer Yinhe-1 in 1983, making China the third country to independently design and develop supercomputers after the United States and Japan.
Development history
It's not too late for China's computer industry to start. On August 1st, 1958, China's first digital electronic computer, Computer 103, was born by studying the computer technology of the Soviet Union. Since 1970s, the demand for supercomputers in China has been increasing rapidly. Long-term weather forecasting, simulated wind tunnel experiments, 3D seismic data processing, even the development of new weapons and aerospace industry all put forward new requirements for computing power. Therefore, China started the research and development of supercomputers, and successfully developed the Yinhe-1 supercomputer on December 4th, 1983. And continue to successfully develop Galaxy supercomputers with series Yinhe II, Yinhe III and Yinhe IV, making China one of the few countries in the world that can issue 5-7-day medium-range numerical weather forecasts. In 1992, Dawning No.1 supercomputer was successfully developed. While developing Galaxy and Dawning series, China found that it was difficult to continue to develop vector computers because of their own defects, so it was necessary to develop parallel computers. So China began to develop Shenwei supercomputer and developed Shenwei Blu-ray supercomputer on the basis of Shenwei supercomputer. In 2002, Lenovo successfully developed the Shenteng 1800 supercomputer and began to develop the Shenteng series supercomputer.
